Daz is a seasoned professional musician and was part of a successful 90's rock group called 'Kiss Of The Gypsy', who were signed to Atlantic Records in New York. Daz is currently in the process of recording his solo album. Before Kiss of the Gypsy got their recording contract Daz managed a guitar store. Now he owns his own music store (Dazamakiz) and is still writing and recording with his lyricist for Brown Rice Productions as well as performing with the blue pig orchestra.
Paul Brown (Daz's lyricist) and Brown Rice Producutions
Having written and recorded many songs for himself and other people; Daz was never happy with the lyrics. At the time Daz was teaching guitar and had a student called Paul Brown, who offered Daz some of his written work; this was not in song format but more of a short story.
After reading it Daz asked if he could arrange the story into a song, and Paul gladly agreed.
A week later, there was a finished and recorded song. When Daz played Paul the song for the first time, he was amazed that this short story he had written (Angel of Mercy), which meant a great deal to him, had been turned around into a full song with music and was on CD.
Daz found he could work very easily with Paul’s lyrics over his own. So the next few guitar lessons turned into ‘how to write lyrics for a song', structure and phrasing, etc.
Paul soon got the hang of this and after a short while Daz had recorded half a dozen songs, all using Paul’s lyrics (only changing the odd phrase here and there).
This partnership has since bloomed and the pair have formed their own company, ‘Brown Rice Productions’ which is a simple joining of their surnames.
Currently they are working on an album and hope to have it completed and released in 2010.
On release it will be available for purchase via this site and also selected other sites.
